Rebuilt in stone and spires after a great fire in 1904, Ålesund is Norway's Art Nouveau jewel, draped across a cluster of islands at the edge of the Atlantic. The reward for climbing Aksla is one of the country's finest town views; the reward for staying down is some of its best seafood.
