A complete contrast to the fjords and an easy one. South of Stavanger the land flattens into Jæren, a windswept farming coast with the country's best beaches, dry-stone walls and a chain of lighthouses at Obrestad and Kvassheim. Walk the dunes, watch the surfers and stop for waffles at a lighthouse café. This follows the Jæren scenic route.
