Oslo → Bergen

Oslo → Bergen: the Hardanger way

The most-recommended scenic way between Norway's two biggest cities. Climb west onto the Hardangervidda plateau, drop to the giant Vøringsfossen waterfall at Eidfjord, then trace the orchard-lined shores of the Hardangerfjord, over the soaring Hardanger Bridge and past waterfalls, before the final run into Bergen. Two days does it justice with an overnight on the fjord; rushing it in one is possible but a waste.
