The northern half of the Helgeland coast strings together ferries and bridges along a skerry-strewn shoreline, with the jagged Seven Sisters mountain range rising straight from the sea. The drive crosses the Arctic Circle and looks out toward the Svartisen glacier. Patience with ferry timetables is part of the experience; the rewards are empty beaches and some of the cleanest seascapes in Norway.
