From the UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord the Eagle Road climbs in tight switchbacks to the Ørnesvingen viewpoint, then the route crosses by ferry and valley to the Trollstigen, the 'Troll's Ladder', where eleven hairpins stack up a near-vertical wall beside the Stigfossen waterfall. A viewing platform juts out over the void at the top. It is justly famous and busy; start early.
