A spectacular day east of Tromsø. Drive to the Svensby ferry across the Ullsfjord and land beneath the Lyngen Alps, a wall of glaciated peaks rising straight from the sea, beloved of ski-tourers and climbers. Continue along the Lyngenfjord to Lyngseidet, with waterfalls and glacier views the whole way and loop back by the second ferry. Check ferry times before you set off.
